High School Student Volunteering
When a student and their family accepts the opportunity to be sponsored for high school, they are also accepting a responsibility to give of their time to help their community.
High School Sponsorship
Helping youth to succeed.
Armenia, has one school that finishes at grade 8. Many of the local youth are never given an opportunity to continue their education. Although there are a number of high school and trade school options in Belmopan, they remain out of reach for many due to physical distance, the financial cost, and generational patterns.
IHF aims to give opportunities to students that would otherwise continue their education if it were more accessible to them and their families' situations.
IHF continues to invest in Armenia, by requiring all sponsored students to adhere to a code conduct and by giving back through volunteering and fundraising for an additional student to be able to attend school.
Lockdown Learning
During extended pandemic lockdowns, schools had to close their doors. Online learning is a very challenging task for a community in which internet access and computer hardware is out of reach for many. IHF recognized the difficulties our high school students were facing and stepped in by setting up a safe space they could work and gain online access.
Hosting Missions Teams
Warm & Welcoming
IHF, designed its Loforna base to be a space for locals to learn, grow and love. It also designed it to be able to host teams from across Belize and internationally.
Youth Retreats
IHF has hosted many diverse groups. Youth Unlimited Montreal has fallen in love with Armenia, and has returned several times to invest... and to redeem itself after being defeated by the local youth in soccer.
Community Support
We encourage all teams to form respectful partnerships with local leaders in order to set respectful boundaries and to find ways to truly be of service. We encourage all who visit to love Armenia and it's beautiful people.
